This coin is a genuine Imperial Roman bronze coin minted from 306-491 AD, during the late Rome's Christian era. It is a genuine antiquity. Historians know only very little about the coinage during this period due to ongoing warfare and chaos of that period. The size, weight and the names of coins changed frequently over time. There were at least 15 different imperial coin denominations.
This bronze Roman coin was minted between 306-491 AD - the period spanning the reigns of the Christian emperors: Constantine I through Zeno, in the closing decades of the Roman empire. Roman coins circulated in large quantities throughout the empire - stretching from Britain to Persia at its zenith. They were hand made by inserting metal blanks between two dies and striking the upper die with a heavy hammer. This crude method resulted in coins being imperfectly shaped. Coins were used for everyday transactions, so often show the wear from long use. Typically, the emperor's bust is found on one side, with the reverses showing inscriptions of titles, vows, mottos and/or images with mythological or military themes.
